The Alpha Phi Toronto and Area Alumnae Chapter and Phi Gamma Delta Toronto Alumni teamed up for our first annual 'Batter Up Baseball Tournament', in support of the Jays Care Foundation. Thank you to everyone who supported us as we put our baseball skills to the ultimate test, and raised over $2000 for the Jays Care Foundation!
Annual General Meeting 2017
Our sisters enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at our Annual General Meeting on Sunday. We had an amazing turnout welcoming 8 new graduates to our chapter. We also held elections and voted on our bylaws. Sisters had the chance to catch up with each other and also enjoy food and drinks. Each sister walked away with goodies and pictures to commemorate a great day.

Xi Chapter Reopening Ceremony
Xi Chapter House (University of Toronto) celebrated a milestone this year, 110 year anniversary. To celebrate, a get-together was held at the house with a ribbon cutting to celebrate the well-deserved renovations that were completed over the summer. We had a special visitor from International who helped us debut the completed house. Thank you to Monica and the House Corp board as well as Alpha Phi International for working hard and keeping the house open, safe, and beautiful for generations to come.
Santa Claus Parade
At the Santa Claus parade, the Toronto and Area Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Phi ran their most successful family event of the year. Continuing with tradition, alumnae sisters brought their families and friends to the Santa Claus parade in Toronto and then after came back to Xi Chapter house for refreshments, gingerbread making and a visit from Santa himself. We would like to thank all of our sisters and their families for attending and making this event very special.
Outstanding Alumnae Chapter Award
At Alpha Phi’s 71st Bicentennial Convention, the Toronto and Area Alumnae Chapter walked away with an award for Outstanding Alumnae Chapter in the Eastern Quadrant. We have and will continue to work hard to connect our alumnae sisters with each other and Alpha Phi. We are so proud of our Executive team that continues to work hard to make this chapter amazing.
Congratulations to our alumna sister Eleni Makos who married Robert Bell. In preparation for the wedding, Eleni was featured on popular show Say Yes to the Dress. Where she walked away with not one but two stunning gowns for her wedding. Such an amazing and exciting time for both of you, love and aoe.
Alumna Stephanie Wetherald was married to Sigma Chi alumni Calvin Da Silva on August 25th, 2016. It was a grand wedding with lots of loved ones taking place in Kitchener, ON. The two met at their Alma Mater Wilfrid Laurier University and after a two-year engagement were married in the very place they had their first date. We wish these two the very best.
The ladies from Alpha Phi Toronto and Area Alumnae Chapter celebrated the Toronto Blue Jays this summer by attending an annual game, a summer tradition we love. This is a great time to hang out with our sisters and spend an exciting night under the dome, cheering on our favourite team.
Father's Day Contest
Our alumnae chapter recently decided to organize a Father’s Day Contest and it was very successful. We asked the women of our chapter to send in their photos of themselves and their dads showing their love for Alpha Phi. The winner was Julia Todorski and her father, they won a trip to the Blue Jays game. Congratulations!
Annual General Meeting 2016
Our sisters enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at our Annual General Meeting this past May. We had an amazing turnout welcoming 6 new graduates to our chapter. We also held mid-term elections to fill vacant positions and voted on our bylaws. Sisters had the chance to catch up with each other and also enjoy food and drinks. Each sister walked away with goodies and pictures to commemorate a great day.
Scholarship Luncheon 2016
Our sister Andreia McLean, Toronto Area Alumnae Panhellenic Delegate, ran a successful Scholarship Luncheon at Brassaii, downtown Toronto. She introduced Lorraine Zander, Editor in Chief of Faze Magazine, to speak with all of us about women in leadership. A silent auction full of great items donated from local stores and fellow Panhellenic Sisters raised money for two annual scholarships given to deserving women in our community.
Introducing a Legacy
Little Legacy Arianna, has made quite the impact since her birth last February. Her mother Alexandra Makos, highly involved in Alpha Phi has the sweetest and most involved little dipper. From the alumnae baseball social to ribbon cutting ceremonies and even seeing Santa, this little bundle of joy has been to every Alpha Phi alumnae event she can. Love and aoe to our little legacy.
